Goodwill to take over former Tervis headquarters in Venice
Goodwill Industries-Manasota has signed a lease to take over the former Tervis headquarters for a 54,189-square-foot Sustainability & Logistics Center.
The property, located next to MITER Brands, formerly known as PGT, is at 201 Triple Diamond Blvd. in Venice, and is part of a 120,000-square-foot campus. Buligio Capital purchased the campus in 2023 for $15,350,000, according to Sarasota County Property Appraiser records.
Goodwill Industries-Manasota, Inc. is a nonprofit serving 11 counties on the east and west coasts of Florida. In addition to being a logistics center, the site will also have a Bargain Barn, where items that are not sold in retail stores are sold by the pound.
More than 40 jobs are expected to be created, according to a press release from Colliers, which represented Buligio Capital in the lease negotiations.
“To accommodate large-scale equipment like balers essential for responsible recycling operations, Goodwill Industries-Manasota, Inc. required a substantial industrial footprint in its new facility,” the press release stated. “The organization’s Bargain Barn model — where new items are rotated onto the sales floor every 30 minutes — also demanded ample space to function efficiently.”
Michelle Senner, a broker of industrial services at Colliers, said the Goodwill Sustainability & Logistics Center will be good for Venice.
“Given the building’s significance as the former Tervis headquarters, it was essential that the tenant align with the strategic vision for the park and the surrounding area,” Senner said. “Goodwill meets this standard and will also serve as a positive addition to the city of Venice’s economic development initiatives.”
